African Youth For Transitional Justice Training

Experience of Networking Organizations of Youths in Transitional Justice

27 – 29 February, 2024 | Kampala, Uganda

From February 27th to 29th, 2024, Kampala, Uganda hosted the 4th African Youth for Transitional Justice Training (AY4TJ). This gathering brought together young participants from across the continent to engage with the African Transitional Justice Policy and other relevant topics.

The primary goal of the training was to empower a new generation of changemakers. By providing these young participants with essential skills and knowledge, the aim is to encourage greater youth involvement in shaping and executing both national and local transitional justice initiatives.

YORJA actively participated in the event, contributing to a panel titled "Experience of Networking Organizations of Youths in Transitional Justice." We shared our organization's story, including its origins, objectives, challenges encountered, and strategies for success.

A significant outcome of the event was the establishment of a continental youth network for transitional justice. We are thrilled to congratulate Angeline Abuor, Enya Echeng and Heba Assem on their appointment to the task force leading this initiative. YORJA extends its best wishes for their success in building this vital network.
